My Lesson Notes from Church (Vol. 2): Wonders of Praise Service

My Lesson Notes from Church (Vol. 2): Wonders of Praise Service – RCCG Champions Cathedral

Verse of the Week: Psalm 30:5 (KJV) – “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Welcome to Volume 2 of “My Lesson Notes from Church.” This week’s service at RCCG Champions Cathedral Family, led by our dear Pastor Emmanuel Emefienim, was tagged “Wonders of Praise Service.” From the first service to the last, the atmosphere was drenched in praise, worship, dancing, and deep spiritual teaching. In this post, I share my raw notes from each session from enemies of praise to the power of intercession  so you too can glean truth and encouragement.

First Service – Topic: Knowing Your Enemy

Pastor: Emmanuel Emefienim

Scriptures: 2 Samuel 6:22, Joshua 1:5

The first enemy of praise highlighted was pride. Pastor reminded us that pride can silence our praise and block our blessings. David, despite being king, declared in 2 Samuel 6:22:

“And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight…”

Also, Joshua 1:5 reminds us:

“There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Declarations Wonders of Praise RCCG:

  • ARISE O GOD AND SCATTER ALL MY ENEMIES
  • IN THE NAME OF JESUS, MY MOCKERS ARE SILENCED PERMANENTLY;
  • IN THE NAME OF JESUS, MY BURDENS ARE LIFTE AND MY JOY MULTIPLIED;
  • IN THE NAME OF JESUS, ALL MY PENDING BLESSINGS ARE RELEASED THIS MONTH
  • FROM NOW ON, MY REALM IS QUITE; INENJOY PEACE ROUNDABOUT
  • AGAINST ALL ODDS AND ON A DAILY BASIS, FEARFUL TESTIMONIES ARE MY PORTION
  • THIS MONTH ENDS GLORIOUSLY FOR ME. MY CASE IS SETTLED! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

Second Service – Topic: Knowing Your Enemy (continued)

Pastor: Emmanuel Emefienim

Scriptures: Hebrews 12:14–15 (NLT), Matthew 6:14–15 (NLT)

The second enemy of praise is bitterness. Pastor taught that bitterness is poisonous, affecting not only us but those around us. Unforgiveness also blocks both prayer and praise.

Declarations:

  • IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I AND MY HOUSEHOLD ARE FOR SIGNS AND WONDERS
  • WHOEVER ATTACKS ME AFTER TODAY SHALL BE THOROGHLY DISGRACED;
  • MY CHALENGES ARE OVERTURNED; I ENJOY UNCOMMON GRACE WHEREVER I GO;
  • MY HEART IS FIXED ON THE LORD; I AND MY FAMILY SHALL NOT BE MOVED;
  • IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I CAN NEVER BE STRANDED; GOD WILL MAKE A WAYFOR ME;
  • FOR ME AND MY FAMILY, THIS MONTH SHALL SURELY END IN PRAISE…..
  • AND AT LAST MY, MY JOY OVERFLOWS.. AMEN & AMEN

Third Service – Topic: Explosive Growth Drive

Theme: The Mandate to Intercede for the Gospel

Scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:1–4, Acts 16:25

Prayer isn’t just for pastors, it’s a mandate for every believer. We must intercede for:

  • The lost to be saved
  • More laborers in God’s vineyard
  • The Gospel to penetrate hearts
  • Ministers’ health, boldness, and strength
  • Utterance to communicate the Gospel effectively

Takeaway: When the church prays, the Gospel grows.

Fourth Service – Topic: His Word Will Come to Pass

Scriptures: Habakkuk 2:3, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Psalm 138:2, Isaiah 55:11, Proverbs 3:5–6

No matter how long it takes, God’s Word never fails. Even if it tarries, wait for it.

Why I believe God’s Word will come to pass:

  • Psalm 138:2: “Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
  • Isaiah 55:11: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void…”

What we must do:

  • Trust in the Lord with all our heart (Proverbs 3:5–6)
  • Recognize His faithfulness to every promise
Final Thoughts: The Wonders of Praise Service was powerful. From identifying enemies of praise like pride and bitterness, to praying for the advancement of the Gospel, to holding tightly to God’s promises, this Sunday was one to remember. Let’s hold on to Psalm 30:5 this week: “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. ”Praise prepares the atmosphere for joy. Let your praise be loud, your prayers be fervent, and your faith be unshaken.
