My Lesson Notes from Church (Vol. 1)

From the Pulpit of Pastor Emmanuel Emefienim | RCCG Champions Cathedral Family

Hi friends,

Welcome to the very first edition of my church lesson notes. my name is okeh collins and  I attend RCCG Champions Cathedral Family here in Delta State, and my pastor, Pastor Emmanuel Emefienim, is someone who teaches with depth, clarity, and boldness. Each Sunday, I take notes some scribbled quickly, others carefully outlined because I believe God still speaks with precision through His servants.

This series is a simple space where I share those raw, unedited notes just the way I took them. I won’t be explaining them. I believe that the same Spirit who ministers to us in church can speak to you through these words wherever you are.

Here’s what I captured last Sunday: 18/05/2025

FIRST SERVICE
Topic: Be Courageous; Get Out of Poverty

  • A man who refuses to bow down to poverty is being courageous

  • Courage means the ability to do what frightens you

  • Courage is a potent force, but there are driving forces

Things to have to be courageous (The Driving Force to be Courageous):

  1. The Word of God

  • When you hear and act on God’s Word you have no fear of the devil

  • You can’t eat God’s Word and still be in poverty
Jeremiah 15:16 – “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”

  • No one can make you inferior without your consent

  1. Learn to take courageous steps
1 Kings 17:12 – “So she said, ‘As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.’”

  • Be courageous to do

  • It takes courage for someone to leave his comfort zone to a place that you don’t know

  • There’s never a convenient time to take a courageous step

  • You don’t know what God can do except you take the courageous move/step

  • You don’t know how much you can build until you take the move

SECOND SERVICE
Text: 2 Kings 7:1 – “Then Elisha said, ‘Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: “Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.”’”
Topic: Lessons from the Conference of Lepers

Lesson 1

  • God can use outcasts to bring His promise to the lives of His children
1 Samuel 2:8 – “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.”

Lesson 2

  • Learn to confront your fears with the force of courage
Job 3:25 – “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.”
Matthew 16:25 – “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Lesson 3

  • When you take courageous steps, good things run towards you
Luke 15:17–18 – “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.”’”

THIRD SERVICE
Text: Matthew 28:18–20 – “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
Topic: The Mandate to Make Disciples of Everyone

  • We are to make disciples of everyone around us, starting from our family

  • Letting God show through us is discipleship

  • Jesus is a perfect example of someone who made disciples of people around Him

  • Someone must influence your life to fulfill purpose

Outline 1

  • Discipleship multiplies the workforce
Matthew 9:35–37 – “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”
John 14:12 – “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Outline 2

  • From new convert to disciple

Outline 3

  • There’s a reward of soul-winning and discipleship

  • One secret of soul-winning is prosperity

That’s it for now. I’ll be sharing more of these each week, God helping me.

If any part of the note speaks to you, let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear what you received from it too.
